Is Spring a Fresh Start or Just a Change in Season?

There’s something about early March along the Grand Strand. The light shifts. The mornings feel softer. Golf courses grow greener by the week, and beach walks start stretching a little longer.

And it makes me wonder:

When it comes to real estate, does the season change first, or do we?

By the time March arrives, many homeowners have quietly been thinking about a move for months. Spring simply gives those thoughts permission. Historically, we do see an uptick in new listings across the greater Myrtle Beach area as we move through March and April. Buyer activity also increases, particularly from second-home shoppers and early retirees preparing for a summer transition.

But timing alone isn’t what drives a successful move.

What I’m seeing right now is steady, thoughtful activity. Well-priced homes are attracting attention. Properties that reflect today’s market reality, not last year’s headlines, are the ones moving. Buyers are still active across a wide range of price points, from primary residences to golf community homes to coastal retreats. They’re simply more deliberate.

Spring doesn’t guarantee a sale.
And it doesn’t guarantee the perfect buying opportunity either.

What it does offer is momentum and clarity.

If you’ve been considering a move, this is often the time when conversations turn into plans. If you’re staying put, it’s still a good moment to understand where your property stands in today’s market. A simple valuation update can provide perspective, even if a move is years away.

Real estate decisions are personal and they deserve thoughtful guidance.

If this is the season you’ve been waiting for, I’m always happy to talk it through.
